Putin says that he is ready to talk to Trump; coverage of interview with Putin

Putin and Trump having a meeting in 2017

During an interview on a Russian TV channel, Putin indicated his openness to meet with Trump, emphasizing the importance of a calm dialogue on mutually relevant topics, including energy prices and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

On Friday January 24th, Russian President Vladimir Putin repeated Donald Trump’s idea that the Ukraine conflict could have been averted had Trump remained in the Oval Office during 2022.

Putin expressed that he wants to discuss issues with Trump, but stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s earlier refusal to negotiate with Moscow posed a barrier.

Trump previously claimed that had he been in office, he would have prevented the outbreak of the conflict, despite having been president as hostilities escalated in eastern Ukraine prior to Russia’s military deployment in 2022.

Trump recently talked about his belief that Zelenskyy should have reached an agreement with Putin to prevent the current turmoil.

Putin pointed out that the U.S. and Russia have a range of critical issues to address, including nuclear arms control.

In response to this, Russian Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reaffirmed that the conflict stems from Western disregard for Russia’s security concerns rather than oil price fluctuations.

He emphasized that the war persists due to threats against Russia’s national security.

Peskov stated, “The conflict doesn’t depend on oil prices. “The conflict is ongoing because of the threat to Russia’s national security.”

Peskov explained Putin’s reason for military action in Ukraine, framing it as a necessary defense against NATO expansion.

Trump threatened to impose strict tariffs and sanctions on Russia if a resolution to the fighting in Ukraine isn’t reached.

Trump stated on Truth Social media, “We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better,” he said. “It’s time to MAKE A DEAL. NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!” (npr.org)

Do you think Russia and Ukraine will come to an agreement and end it’s war? Comment below.

During this interview, Putin states that he believes that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, also there may not have been a war between Ukraine and Russia if Trump had been President the last four years. And the reason that there has not been any contact between the U.S and Russia, falls on the responsibility of the previous administration.

  1. Trump will work with countries to try and resolve differences peacefully.

Panama needs to turn a def ear to China and stop ripping American ships off as they pass through the canal.

China needs to stop threatening the expansion of Chinese territory to the island of Taiwan.

Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hamas need to stop thinking they are going to take over the world. Most Muslims in the middle east and elsewhere want to see peace in the Middle east exemplified by the Abraham accords.

Putin needs to stop being paranoid about other countries wanting to invade Russia to acquire more territory. NATO countries need to be able to spend resources dedicated to a military buildup which prevents Putin from expanding Russia into a new Soviet Union for other things.

The definition of insanity is when you have to keep doing the same things over and over which do not make the world around us a better place to live
