This left-leaning news organization is said to have received this significant amount in ‘government subsidies’ as part of a broader investigation into wasteful expenditures led by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Currently, DOGE is working on terminating payments from several federal entities, including USAID.

While Politico reportedly received $44,000 from USAID last year, they obtained millions more from other government sources such as the Human Health Department, $8.2 million according to public records.
Politico did not receive the money in grants, but through subscriptions that were bought for governments employee and agencies, $8.2 million worth of subscription.
