
Dan Bongino has been appointed by President Donald Trump as the new deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a position that does not require Senate confirmation. He will work under Kash Patel.
On Sunday evening February 23rd, Trump shared the announcement through his Truth Social account, declaring, “Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice. Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI by the man who will be the best ever Director, Kash Patel.”
Bongino’s academic background includes a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology from Queens College, as well as an MBA from Pennsylvania State University, according to Wikipedia.
Before his appointment, Bongino served as a New York City Police Department officer from 1995 to 1999 and was a U.S. Secret Service agent from 1999 to 2011.
Although he made three unsuccessful attempts to run for Congress as a Republican, he has remained a prominent figure in conservative media.
Currently hosting his own podcast, which has ranked among the top 100 on Spotify. He previously worked as a host for Fox News.
