Quick Quotes: 12: “But as many as received him : to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”

Whether you are a believer in the most read book known to mankind or not, the Bible has some interesting verses. Here is a daily dose of a Bible verse, and how it is explained in today’s world.

12 But as many as received him, : to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, : nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:12-13

What does this verse mean?

To me, this means that we may be born with good intentions, but God made us to do more than have good intentions and good deeds. He made us to worship, praise him and and ask him what we can do on earth to help Him, and his Godly mission, even though we may not know what that is, but we can pray and ask Him to find out what that may be. Comment on what you think think this verse means. The Bible is left up to interpretation.

Here are other thoughts on this verse based on Google;

John 1:12–13 of the Bible means that those who believe in Jesus and accept him are given the right to become children of God, and that this birth is not a result of human choice or physical descent:

Children of God are born of God

Children of God are born through what God does, not through human parents or human desire.

A new birth

This birth is not a physical birth, but a new birth that comes from God.
