Medic plane crash in Philadelphia

Footage of the crash

A medical transport jet, carrying six individuals, crashed shortly after takeoff into a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday, resulting in a massive fireball and igniting several nearby homes.

Among those aboard was a pediatric patient, as confirmed by Jet Rescue, the air ambulance service responsible for the flight. Audio captured on LiveATC.net revealed the air traffic controller attempting to make contact with the plane, asking, “Medevac med service, northeast tower. Are you on frequency?”

Just over a minute later, the controller expressed concern, stating, “We have a lost aircraft. We’re not exactly sure what happened.”

One witness, who spotted the incident from his workplace, described seeing “a large fireball in the sky,” as reported by a local broadcast.

In response to the tragedy, President Trump made a statement on his Truth Social account, “So sad to see the plane go down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More innocent souls lost. Our people are totally engaged. First Responders are already being given credit for doing a great job. More to follow. God Bless you all.”

More details to follow as events unfold.
