The next critical stage involves a Senate vote.
In a show of party unity, all Republicans supported Kennedy’s advancement, all the Democrats stood in opposition.
The nomination involved the backing of fourteen Republican senators, including Sen. Bill Cassidy from Louisiana, who voted for him, despite his previous reservations regarding Kennedy’s candidacy. All thirteen Democratic senators voted against him.
To secure confirmation, Kennedy will need the backing of all but three Republicans, given the potential Democratic opposition.
So all but three Republicans need to vote for him.
