The Presidential Election. Who do you think will win?

Whether you are going to vote for the man with millions of followers, whom the Democrats call “garbage people”, or the women that Republicans claim is someone running on zero policies who laughs like a hackling jackal, its time to make a decision on a candidate. Maybe one political party went a little below the belt during this election race, but that is up to you to decide which political party that was.

Let’s all agree on that this has been an interesting couple of months, with one political party claiming and fighting against voter fraud, and the other political party’s candidate going on Saturday Night Live (SNL) at a last attempt to gain voters. One party, claiming the other candidate is a scary, delusional man. And the other party claiming that their opposing candidate has cheated herself into this political election by not participating in the primary race, claiming, that she is the “installed” candidate. Also, these events occurred after the previous candidate, who is the President of the United States, was forced to step down from the presidential race.  This has been a wild election.

Now we are all looking at the voting polls, to see who is in the lead. The voting polls are conflicting and are estimates. When will we know who won?

Here is the process of how it works. “Votes cast on election day are tallied first, followed by early and mail ballots, those that have been challenged, and then overseas and military ballots.”(BBC)

“Local election officials – sometimes appointed, sometimes elected – verify, process and count individual votes, in a process known as canvassing.”

“Verifying ballots includes comparing the number cast with the number of active voters; removing, unfolding and examining every single ballot for tears, stains or other damage; and documenting and investigating any inconsistencies.”(BBC)

“Counting ballots involves feeding each one into electronic scanners that tabulate their results. Some circumstances require manual counts or double-checked tallies.” States BBC.com

What happens if the results are unclear or challenged by the opposing political party?
“Once every valid vote has been included in the final results, and after processes such as recounts have been completed, the election results are certified – first in local jurisdictions, then at the state-wide level.”(BBC)

“A state executive, typically the governor, certifies what’s known as a slate of electors to represent their state in the electoral college. These electors meet in their respective states on the 17th of December to cast their votes and send them to Washington.”(BBC)

“On  January 6th, a new US Congress meets in a joint session to count the electoral votes, with the current vice-president presiding.”

With that being said, let’s all hope that these next few days and months, are free of disputes, accusations and conflict.
