In response to the tariffs imposed by Trump starting on February 3rd, China took steps to retaliate against the additional trade restrictions.
Trump had enacted an executive order that introduced a 10% tariff on Chinese imports.

In retaliation, China enacted tariffs on various U.S. goods, beginning early Tuesday morning, coinciding with the implementation of Trump’s latest trade measures. This included a 10% tariff on American agricultural equipment, along with tariffs on U.S. products like coal, oil, and select automobiles.
On the same day, China announced a series of regulatory actions targeting American companies, including Google, manufacturers of agricultural machinery, and the parent company of the fashion label Calvin Klein.
The State Administration for Market Regulation of China indicated that Google was allegedly under suspicion of breaching anti-monopoly laws, prompting the initiation of an investigation. Specific details regarding the allegations against Google were not disclosed.

Google China, previously a popular search platform, has had most of its services blocked for years. In 2010, the functionality for searching via Google was transitioned from mainland China to Hong Kong.
By November 2013, Google’s market in China plummeted from 36.2% in August 2009 to just 1.7%, though there has been a gradual recovery, with its share reaching 3.8% of the search engine market by July 2020(Wikipedia.org)
