ICE arrests hundreds of criminal illegal migrants as Trump’s first week in office unwinds.

(NY Post) In a move to support illegal immigration deportation, President Trump is enlisting additional support for ICE in its efforts to capture and deport undocumented migrants residing in the United States.

Recent operations have resulted in ICE making 538 arrests, targeting criminals among the illegal immigrant population. This past Tuesday, officers conducted a nationwide sweep, netting 308 arrests that included dangerous individuals such as an attempted murderer and a child predator, as reported by The Post.

The following day, operations in Boston led to the apprehension of multiple illegal immigrants, including gang affiliates, murderers, and rapists, according to Fox News.

Under a directive from the Trump administration, the DEA, ATF, and U.S. Marshals have been authorized to initiate immigration arrests and oversee deportation processes, as highlighted by the Wall Street Journal.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Benjamine Huffman granted this authority, aligning federal agents’ powers with those of Homeland Security and the FBI in addressing immigration matters.

Previously, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Drug Enforcement Administration; and the Marshals found themselves limited when dealing with suspects who were in the country unlawfully, a situation explained by retired ATF Deputy Assistant Director Peter Forcelli.

These agents had relied on Immigration and Customs Enforcement to attend to immigration issues.

Now, with the new directives, ICE agents will have more freedom to focus on their primary targets while expanding the scope of immigration-related arrests across the nation.

A big policy change occurred with the termination of the Biden administration’s catch-and-release approach at the border, a system that allowed millions of migrants to enter the U.S. and be released within hours or days of crossing illegally, as noted in an internal memo obtained by The Post.

These violent gang members and criminals have been residing in the U.S for an unknown period of time, why wouldn’t the Biden Administration take any action to arrest these criminals? Comment below.
