Trump plans on sending up to 30,000 thousand illegal criminal immigrants to Guantanamo Bay

Up to 30,000 undocumented immigrants could be sent to Guantanamo Bay, according to a recent executive decision from Trump.

He issued a presidential memo urging the Defense Department and the Department of Homeland Security to enhance a migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay, a location historically used for detaining individuals involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“This facility is notoriously challenging for detainees to escape from,” he noted.

In his announcement, Trump emphasized the capacity of the facility, “Today, I am also directing the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to start preparations for this 30,000-person migrant center at Guantanamo Bay.”

He added that “Many people are unaware that we have available 30,000 beds at Guantanamo designated for the detention of the most dangerous illegal criminals who pose a threat to the American public.”

As posted on the U.S  Immigration and Customs Government X social account, the total count for Wednesday’s January 29th, daily arrests of illegal migrants is: 

1016 Illegal immigrants Arrested

814 Detainers Lodged 

Detainer Lodge means  migrants who have allegedly committed crimes and have causes to be arrested or  deported. (www.ice.gov)
